Ask any Cañon City local where to eat at they're first response will be "anywhere but K-Bobs." Everyone has their own horrible experience mine is no different. Basically I knew their food wasn't any good. But my grandmother (who has no taste buds) asked me to go with her. I ordered a medium cooked hamburger. I figured you really can't mess that up right? Well K-Bobs can. It came out overly well done on an old bun. The nice waiter asked me how it was and I simply stated "well, it taste like it's from K-Bobs" his eyes apologized for him.

K-BOBS Steakhouse Decor is confused. Native American pictures and giant stars. Tables are wood with a tacky, gummy feel. 1970's style black restaurant chairs. Heaters along edge of baseboard. Pillars have recessed brick like at a bistro. Ceiling is taped in areas and torn in others. Vents need a thorough cleaning. Ordered an Angus bacon cheddar burger. Was not asked how I would like it cooked. Arrived well done. The bread is powdery and coarse, reminiscent of day old bread. Corn was completely lacking in flavor of any kind even though it was made with a pepper/onion mix. The food missed the mark entirely. Wait staff was prompt and courteous. Overall, recommend passing this uneventful place by.

Don't do it. The steak was nothing but fat and my husband's burger tasted worse than the frozen patties you get from Sam's Club. Also, I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy with my steak. There was more gravy than potatoes... Weird. The only thing that got me through the meal was the salad bar and my glass of wine. Luckily, the price wasn't horrendous and the wait staff is very nice. But, still not worth it. Better off going to McDonald's....

The place was alright. Salad wagon is cute. My wife wasn't impressed with her chicken fried steak, but it was decent and the price was right. I enjoyed my jumbo chimichanga. Service was good.

K Bobs well we stopped on the way from pueblo west. Wow the food was awesome I had a ranch steak you could cut with a fork. I asked what it was they said it was a sirloin very good! My husband had the Platter chicken ribs and brisket. He said it was the best. Great service. Would have give a 5 but the salads on the salad bar weren't the greatest. A great stop!!!

Service was ok. My rice was cold, french fries stale, and I could tell my steak was recently defrosted in the microwave. Pass this place

A solid 3 stars. I enjoyed the salad bar. I don't think it would have been enough to be a dinner meal by itself, but it was a nice addition. The cold stuff was cold enough and it's presented nicely. I tried the ribeye steak. It was lacking in flavor and needed some A1 to help it go down. That was disappointing, especially after reading the descriptions of their steaks on their menu. The service was good. We'll probably be back once in a while when we come through town.

This is a tough one. While the food was mediocre the waitress was pleasant and sociably fun. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest, in fact a salad bowl that someone had prepared, but decided they didn't want, stayed on the salad bar counter the entire time we dined. Food droppings and empty tables were not cleaned during our entire meal. Oh yea, did I mention they were not busy? Don't order the ribs, tough, anemic, and salty; the steak was a disappointment, less then the value; the salmon was fine. The waitress did not know the menu so we had to send some food back as it was prepared contrary to our request. A strange restaurant with a confusing atmosphere. I lieu of an alternative we might return but it's "no" to the ribs and the steak.

Trial and error? Big error. My fiance wanted to give this place a go. And let's just say they should not be calling themselves a steakhouse. I ordered a sirloin and rib combo for 18.99 and added the salad wagon. The salad was okay. My sides were the bbq beans and a loaded baked potato with sour cream on the side. The steak was supposed to be med well with a slight pink center. It was well done but still juicy and tender, but had no flavor. The A-1 sauce tasted watered down. The ribs were extremely tough and basically unedible. The bbq beans were crunchy...wait what? Bbq beans should not be crunchy. And the bbq part was watery. Honestly the baked potato was the highlight of my meal. Their "new" sweet tea needs some serious help too. Sweet at first and then no flavor. My fiance ordered the rib eye that had no flavor. A little salt and pepper isn't hard to add to a steak for decent flavor. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy were what I would expect from Denny's. The gravy is not homemade, it's from a powered substance and you can taste the grittiness. The corn and red peppers tasted like jalapeños mixed in it. And after asking our server for fresh rolls that everyone but us got, they were slightly over cooked and too much butter on the tops. They were supposed to be slightly sweet, Texas T-bone's are MUCH better and bigger. In the beginning I was considering getting their peach cobbler for dessert, but after my experience with dinner I passed on dessert. If you have a choice, do not eat here. I think I might contact Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible to fix this place....

I normally only lurk on Yelp, using the reviews to help me find interesting hole in the walls or interesting local fare when traveling. My wife, daughter, and I were visiting the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park this weekend and we were hungry for dinner before leaving town. I was in the mood for a steak and remembered passing this place on the way there. After reading a few Yelp reviews I decided to take the chance. Usually Yelp reviews work out pretty well for me. In this case I didn't know what I was getting into. I'm not sure if we came at a bad time or on a bad day, or if the place just hired their head chef/cook/slop slinger and just hired a new one, but the awfulness boiled down to the quality of the food. It was horrible. The only thing they didn't manage to completely screw up was my daughter's kid pizza and french fries which tasted fine according to her. My wife had a half rack of ribs which she started off telling me it smelled "funny". She gave me a piece and I took one bite. Just one. I couldn't believe she had eaten as much of it as she did. To start, I wasn't really sure if these were pork or beef ribs. They had a consistency unlike any others I've had before, even in Afghanistan (just got back, thank me for my service in another venue please). Whatever meat it was, at least it was cooked, but the taste and consistency was awful. I like my ribs to fall or at least easily pull off the bone. I had to use a knife and fork in this case. Believe me when I say that they should just stop serving ribs. They are doing themselves and anyplace that serves actual BBQ meats a disservice by even having these on their menu. Her second side in addition to her house salad (not great, not terrible, just there) was baked beans. Now we don't fancy ourselves baked bean connoiseurs or anything, but we do expect a few things: fully cooked, some added flavor, and added spices of some sort. Somehow these were raw, had no flavor, or any attempt at spicing them up. I didn't know you could even undercook baked beans until yesterday. I had a bacon "wrapped" sirloin. The bacon wasn't around the steak so much as it was laying in a pathetic halo on top of it. The steak itself was a flavorless hunk of meat that had no care of any kind put into its making. While it was edible, I wouldn't call it good by any stretch of the definition. I have had better steaks in Afghanistan, I'm not even kidding. You would think an American restaurant would be able to top a deployment steak 10 times out of 10, but alas that is not the case. I had a baked "potato" in addition to my house salad. Somehow they had the smallest potatoes that I've seen in awhile. It tasted like it had been cooking for about 10 hours straight as it was so done that I could barely get it to come apart to form a bite. Butter and sour cream didn't help to soften this lump of coal. Salt and pepper made it semi-palatable. The only thing I consumed that I can say anything good about was the Raspberry Iced Tea. It was actually pretty tasty, but not enough to raise this beyond a one star review. I felt bad for our waitress as she actually provided pretty good service, but was trapped by the crappy food she had to serve. She got my standard 20% tip, I hope like hell she doesn't have to share with the kitchen. K-Bob's, if I could give you one tip, it's this: fix your food preparation, it sucks. I won't ever come back but maybe you could get it right to stay open because surely if you don't you will go out of business. I only gave one star because Yelp won't allow for a zero star rating. If I could sum up my review with a witty title, it would be this: "Keep Driving".

Worked out well for my friend and I since right now we're South Beach Dieting, so we were able to find things we're "allowed" to eat here. I don't honestly recal the name of the steak meal we both ordered, it was a little smaller than I thought it would be for the price, but very filling. Was one of the dishes where we got to choose our sides instead of standard baked potato and dinner roll. So. We both selected sliced tomatoes and mixed vegetables, and were both happy. They do cook the steak exactly how they're supposed to, which is always a surprise to me. I'm used to undercooked steak so when I want medium-well I order well done. It was truly well-done and that made it a little dry, but probably wouldn't have even noticed if the diet didn't have me avoiding steak sauce. We also both got the salad bar, which was fresh, and had a lot of variety (I can't remember ever going to a non-specialty salad bar and getting to put sweet sprouts on my salad before), and also included soup. Choices were clam chowder or pinto bean chilli. Our service was prompt and friendly, and the decor was pretty and pleasant. Displeased that other diners seated nearby let their too-old-to-be-doing-that-crap kid bang his silverwear together for a good fifteen or twenty minutes, but I don't guess there's much a restaurant can do about idiot people having idiot children. I do agree with previous reviewers that there wasn't much flavor to the steak, but if you're okay with remedying that with steak sauce or worcestershire then you shouldn't have any problems.

My BF and I had dinner here last week. Limited beer selection, but that is okay bc the salad wagon was great, lots of fresh offerings, and the main courses were very good. I had the cornmeal fried fish and he had the chicken fried steak. Easily the best fried fish and CFS anywhere in town. Homemade and fresh and flavorful. The sides were nothing special unfortunately- we had green beans and bacon which were bland and fiesta corn also eh. The dinner rolls were nice and tasted fresh baked. Server was very nice! We will be back!

Whenever I rate a restaurant I do it in mind of people like me - people who are looking to give a new place a try and want to know a little about it. If I were somewhere else would I have given this 4 stars? No. But for where we are and what this is it is worth the 4 stars I've given it. Several people in our party ordered steaks. Surprisingly they were really good. The meat was a good quality and the chef cooked them perfectly to the temperature they were ordered. Two other people got the chicken fried steak - it was fantastic! The coating was a crunchy, peppery batter and the meat was easy to chew. I had the fried shrimp and it was really good, too. The batter was probably one of the top ten best I've had. Surprisingly, my favorite menu item was the baked beans. I like them prepared sweet and these didn't disappoint. Another great find was the cobbler so make sure you save room! Overall, I came in here with low expectations. It doesn't look like much from the street and it would be easy to pass it by. Don't! Give this local place a try. You won't be disappointed.

We missed the royal gorge train in Canon Co, so we stopped in for lunch at this local steak house. I had the steak burger and my wife had the chicken fried steak both were good! The steak burger has no bun but it comes covered with beef gravy. Under $9 bucks for both meals with fries, rolls and drink. It was good country style meal. We were glad we checked it out.

Server was pleasant and worked hard and the kids meals included ice cream so they liked it. My wife said the salad wagon hit the spot too. Overall though, it was mediocre to bad. It was half full on a Friday night (not a good sign when the previous place we tried had a 50 minute wait) yet the food took forever to be prepared. More surprising then was that both my fatty steak and my wife's were barely above room temperature. It was also the thinnest steak I've been served in a restaurant. I am still puzzled why we had to wait so long in a half-empty restaurant to be served a cold meal? I suggest trying someplace else.

High quality ingredients put together with mediocrity. I'd enjoyed a steak better at Denny's down the road, me thinks. Had to ask for butter for my baked potato, and the waitress brought 2 pats. The sauce tasted like it was from Heinz - very salty. I wouldn't go back, even if it was free.

Steak, salad bar, and cobbler are great. Everything else is nauseating.

This place has great food! Not only did I love it..but when I was in there so were the local cops. And you know they aren't going to eat at a ***t hole! The guy that rated it a 1 star because he couldn't readthe specials....well..I guess that really tells the rest of the story.

After a weekend of camping with a fire ban, I was amazed at how good K-Bobs tasted. Their salad bar was clean and fresh, they did have spinach in addition to the requisite small town iceberg and mayonnaise-y salads. My baked bean side and ribeye hit the spot. My kids were super happy with their steak and fried shrimp as well. Welcoming and friendly service. Will go back when in Canon.
